What to expect: This is an introductory clinic into Laser biathlon. THERE ARE NO LIVE ROUNDS USED IN THIS CLINIC. 

Telluride Nordic center and USA Biathlon are providing support and equipment for the clinic. There will be demonstrations on how to use the laser rifle and a review of the rules to biathlon. Individuals will have time to practice on shooting and then have a sprint race format for participating in the sport of Biathlon, including prone and standing shooting positions.  

No experience is necessary, and skiers of all abilities are encouraged to sign up.  

What you need: Cross country gear and be dressed and ready to go at the start times.

The Alley Loop is not your typical Nordic Marathon. It is both a premier American Birkebeiner Qualifying event and Crested Butte’s most outrageous costume party of the year! The course winds through snowy streets, alleyways, and narrow bridges through the heart of downtown Crested Butte. Once you make it through town, you are rewarded with pristine tracks and exhilarating vistas throughout the Crested Butte Nordic trail network.

If you like normal, you may want to look for another race.  If you are up for anything… this is right up your alley!

Celebrate the beauty of the full moon on the Valley Floor!

Join Sheep Mountain Alliance for the 2025 Valley Floor Moonlight Progressive Dinner on Monday, January 13. Walk to the trails on the Valley Floor, then ski, snowshoe, or walk to three food and drink stations dispersed throughout the groomed trail loop right by the Shell station.
Cider, soup and cookies will be available at the three stations. *Please bring your own bowls and cups!*
We are excited to celebrate the the “Wolf Moon” of January as a community. Come for the food and drink, and stay to enjoy a night out on the trails of the Valley Floor!

Join the Telluride Nordic Association for a season kick-off event at the Telluride Elks Lodge. This event is free and open to the public!

Volunteers will be on the course to direct traffic and instruct in sizing and the use of the laser rifles.

Course: The course will be entirely on town park property and participants will be shown where the ski course lies.  Presently the course is tentatively set to have the shooting range near the North ballfield and a figure 8 course that will have an adult and youth ski course.  The ski course is kept short so that there is more time for the participants to practice and experience the shooting component of the sport.  

Time, weather and demand permitting we will add more training times for participants and participants may stay after the event if they want to continue to practice.

This event features classic cross-country and wood ski races, a snowshoe race, and a rookie race! Enjoy a variety of events for all ages and abilities.  

The race course includes part of the historic Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and is located in the southern San Juan Mountains, north of Chama, New Mexico and southwest of Antonito, Colorado. The course includes rolling hills, aspen groves, open meadows, and forests of spruce and fir.  

Registration and Bib Pickup will be available on Friday night (January 12th) at TBD in Chama from 5:30-7:00 p.m.  Race bibs will also be available for pickup at the race site from 9:00-9:45 .am.  Races start at 10 a.m.
